SCHOOL WIDER OPENING FOR NURSERY, RECEPTION AND YEAR 1 CHILDREN
(published Friday 5th June)
SLP Update (posted 11.05.2020)
Following the Government’s announcement yesterday regarding potential changes to the current lockdown situation I thought it important to address the issues that were covered in relation to a return to school.
As stated, should all 5 tests be met successfully a phased return is planned for children currently in Reception, Years 1 and 6 from Monday 1st June.
Exactly how a phased return will operate is yet to be shared with us. Likewise, what this means exactly for children in other year groups or new starters is also unknown.
We anticipate more information and guidance will be provided (to schools) over the coming days enabling us to start planning. Then and only then, will we be in a position to share more information with you.
I know you have a lot of questions and concerns. We all do. Please be assured that we will keep you up to date with information as quickly as we can. Any re-opening will require a lot of planning which will take time so we ask once again for you to extend the patience and respect you have already shown us.
As always, the safety of our children and staff remains at the heart of everything we do, this will never change. We will work with the Local Authority, teaching Unions and other essential partners to ensure this.
As a parent myself I understand whole heartedly the challenges, worries and uncertainty you are feeling at the moment. Please know, your home schooling, juggling work and caring for your immediate and extended family does not go unnoticed. You’re doing an amazing job!
In the meantime, I implore you to continue to follow Government guidance and stay safe.
With very best wishes,
CEO Stanley Learning Partnership.

Easter Kindness Challenge
We’ve been inspired by the British Red Cross to think about the #powerofkindess. During this time of uncertainty it’s important to think about how we can be kind to ourselves and to others! Can you use the kindness calendar below to choose a kind act to complete on each day of the Easter period? You might like to paint or draw a rainbow to put up in a window to spark a little bit of joy for somebody walking by, or perhaps you could help somebody at home to set the table or do the dishes? Remember to be kind to yourself too – you could take half an hour to read your favourite book or play with your favourite toy? We would love to hear about your acts of kindess via our Facebook page and we hope you enjoy thinking of different ways to spread the #powerofkindess!
