We raised an amazing £105.48 for the Malala Fund!
Thank you to everyone who helped to raise money to help girls all over the world to have their right to go to school met.
As part of our learning about how all children have the right to go to school and learn, we learned that sadly, in some parts of the world for lots of different reasons, children aren’t allowed their right to learn.
We thought that this was terrible and that we needed to do something to help! We decided to raise some money by making and selling cakes at our class assemblies. The teachers told us about three different charities who all help children to go to school: Building Schools for Africa, Unicef and The Malala Fund.
Because we all have the right to be listened to fairly, we held a vote to choose the charity that most children wanted to raise money for. Everyone in school was given one token and got the chance to put their own token into the box for the charity of their choice. It was a tricky choice and we needed to think very hard!
The Happy Rights Team counted ALL of the tokens and the charity that most children voted for was The Malala Fund who raise money to help girls to go to school. Watch this space for details of how much we raise from our great cake sale!
